  • Limit interruptions – Distractions cause focus to wander. Try shutting off your cell phone, disabling audible email notifications, and limiting conversations with co-workers until you have completed the task at hand.
  • Take a breakStudies have shown that a period of work followed by a period of rest increases overall productivity. Chat, walk, or briefly step outside to get a fresh perspective after working for 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Use all of your resources – Ask for help when you need it. When an unexpected obstacle arises or a plan becomes derailed, don’t let the stress pile up; ask for what you need to get back on track.
